OEM ODM flexible PCB Circuit for Membrane Switches keyboard was initially developed to replace traditional PCB harnesses. Today, trends like IoT, connectivity, mobility, wearables, and miniaturization are driving their rapid growth across nearly every industry. Essentially, a flexible circuit is a network of conductors between thin dielectric films.
Flexible PCBs can be manufactured using either polyester or polyimide (Kapton) as the base material, depending on your specifications. A very thin sheet of copper is laminated to the flexible film substrate and then chemically etched to create conductive traces. These circuits are known for their lower electrical resistance, higher conductivity, and the ability to solder active and passive components directly onto the assembly, making them suitable for high-reliability environments.
Flexible PCBs can be designed as single-sided, double-sided, or multi-layered, and they can incorporate complex circuit patterns similar to those found on rigid printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Flexible PCBs can be constructed as:
• Single-sided: Conductive traces on one side of the film substrate.
• Double-sided: Conductive traces on both sides of the film substrate.
• Multi-layer flex: A laminated "sandwich" of numerous layers with conductive traces.
• Rigid-Flex: A laminated combination of a flexible circuit with a rigid FR4 PCB.
